It can handle input voltages in the range of 0 to 12 VDC. The output value (resistance) is set via the rotary knob with off-position. The dry contact output can be used to generate a remote start-stop command for a fan. Its splash-proof enclosure allows inset mounting (IP44) or surface mounting (IP54).
